I was watching the TV & numerous Black Friday, Brown Saturday, Gray Sunday, Cyber Monday sales where on. The one which to me is the most ridiculous is the "Buy More Save More" ads. The best way to save more is to buy nothing!
P.O. & his allies believe since the first stimulus bill failed; we need another one! This is the Buy more save more in government. If spending money did not work then they believe spending more is the solution. Most people who are in their right minds don't truly believe continuing doing something that doesn't work more will work!

insanity (n) the state of being seriously mentally ill; madness • extreme foolishness or irrationality

If at first...
P.O. is considering a second stimulus (Pork) bill. After all, the first one has failed so another is bound to work!
“If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. There's no point in being a damn fool about it.” W. C. Fields
If at first you don't succeed (P.O. said he did not misread the situation he didn't have the appropriate info [why is it so hard for politicians to admit a mistake?]), try try again. After all my grandkids don't need any money when they grow up!

Lent
I feel that President Obama should give up on spending our money for Lent.
budget (n) 1 an estimate of income and expenditure for a set period of time : keep within the household budget. | [as adj. ] a budget deficit. • an annual or other regular estimate of national revenue and expenditure put forward by the government, often including details of changes in taxation. • the amount of money needed or available for a purpose : they have a limited budget. 2 archaic a quantity of material, typically that which is written or printed.
$800,000,000,000 for stimulus
$410,000,000,000 spending bill just passed by the house (9000 pork projects)
$675,000,000,000 for health care "reform"
$75,000,000,000 for loser home mortgage relief
$3,600,000,000,000 for his budget.
$1,700,000,000,000 deficit for this next fiscal year.
Pretty soon we will be talking real money. (" A billion here, a billion there, and pretty soon you're talking real money " attributed to Sen Dirksen (IL))
$1,000,000,000,000 in new tax increases sorry "deficit reduction measures" (not reducing the amount of spending!).
I guess I am not as "brilliant" as Obama, I don't understand how spending money we don't have and raising taxes on businesses will help revive the economy and create sustainable jobs.

Selfish
The previous generation was called the great generation because they won WWII & rebuild the country after the war.
SELFISH, (adj) Devoid of consideration for the selfishness of others. (DD)
I'm afraid that my generation will be called the "Selfish" Generation. We are putting about $1,200,000,000,000 of debt on our kids & grandkids & great-grandkids. We don't want to face the bad times for a period. The spending that will be done will cause immense inflation & who is going to buy the debt; I've read that the Chinese are planning to spend their money in country rather in US Bonds.

Democrat Newspeak
Employee Free Choice Act - removes the secret ballot for unionization votes.
Making supplemental appropriations for job preservation and creation, infrastructure investment, energy efficiency and science, assistance to the unemployed, and State and local fiscal stabilization, for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2009, and for other purposes Act - the "Stimulus Bill" which is the greatest pork bill in history.
Newspeak - The official language of Oceania. Newspeak is "politically correct" speech taken to its maximum extent. Newspeak is based on standard English, but all words describing "unorthodox" political ideas have been removed. In addition, there was an attempt to remove the overall number of words in general, to limit the range of ideas that could be expressed
Freedom of Choice Act - removes all abortion restrictions like partial birth abortion, parental notification.
Fairness Doctrine - tries to kill conservative talk radio (since liberal talk radio has failed & the main stream media is pro-pro Liberal including NPR).
new•speak (n), Usage: often capitalized. : propagandistic language marked by euphemism, circumlocution, and the inversion of customary meanings. Etymology: Newspeak, a language "designed to diminish the range of thought," in the novel 1984 (1949) by George Orwell. Date: 1950

Porkulus
As of now the house has passed the Stimulus bill with all GOP members voting against it. It is a 1000 page bill which is suspected that very few of the people voting for it actually read the bill.
The spending is <10% (about 7%) this year (i.e., the pretended stimulus) & 30+% next year. The conference committee reduced the amount of "rebate" to individuals to $400 / 800 from $500 / 1000 (individual / family) & some of the business tax breaks (i.e., the people who hire people / create jobs). And since President Obama said there was no Pork, it must be true (except for every special interest group).
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.
Albert Einstein.
In United States politics, the term pork barrel refers to the appropriation of government spending for projects that are intended primarily to benefit particular constituents, such as those in marginal seats or campaign contributors.

Since I live in IL with Durbin & Burris, too liberal senators there is no chance to change their minds; but if you live in s state with reasonable senators tell them if you like the above. GOP finally stands up
No GOP member of House of Representatives voted for the "Stimulus" Bill. Many conservatives such as myself were very tired of the GOP going along with the Dems leading us to the poor house and to a more socialistic country. One of the main reasons the GOP lost control of the House & Senate & the Presidency is that they started acting like Dems and not conservatives; they did not reduce waste or earmarks or taxes.
http://big.assets.huffingtonpost.com/HR1.pdf is a PDF of the bill, just some provisions randomly chosen:
DIGITAL-TO-ANALOG CONVERTER BOX PROGRAM
Notwithstanding any other provision of law, and in addition to amounts otherwise provided in any other Act, for costs associated with the Digital-to-Analog Converter Box Program, $650,000,000, to be available until September 30, 2009
For an additional amount to be deposited in the Federal Buildings Fund, $7,700,000,000 for real property activities with priority given to activities that can commence promptly following enactment of this Act; of which up to $1,000,000,000 shall be used for construction, repair, and alteration of border facilities and land ports of entry; of which not less than $6,000,000,000 shall be used for construction, repair, and alteration of Federal buildings for projects that will create the greatest impact on energy efficiency and conservation; of which $108,000,000 shall remain available until September 30, 2012, and shall be used for rental of space costs associated with the construction, repair, and alteration of these projects;
For an additional amount for ‘‘Indian Health Facilities’’, $550,000,000, for priority health care facilities construction projects and deferred maintenance, and the purchase of equipment and related services, including but not limited to health information technology
POVERTY, (n) A file provided for the teeth of the rats of reform. The number of plans for its abolition equals that of the reformers who suffer from it, plus that of the philosophers who know nothing about it. Its victims are distinguished by possession of all the virtues and by their faith in leaders seeking to conduct them into a prosperity where they believe these to be unknown
Finally they have stood up for us! It is amazing all of the waste / pork in the "Stimulus" bill. One of the major problems now is the lack of jobs; lots of people are losing their jobs NOW. The Bill does almost nothing to lead to new sustainable jobs.

For an additional amount for ‘‘Science’’, $400,000,000, of which not less than $250,000,000 shall be solely for accelerating the development of the tier 1 set of Earth science climate research missions recommended by the National Academies Decadal Survey
