For some reason I was thinking about the new features on my new car vs. the old car, this morning while on my early morning dog walk. It isn't like there was any reason for it, that is just how my (intersting, strange) brain works.
New: electric windows - advantages can control all the windows (even the back ones since now there are usually no kids in the back) from the driver's seat. dis: I always forget to open them when we are parked when one of is still in the car; not good if in an accident and need to get out of the car.
Old: manual windows - adv : can operate them when car is off, easy to get out of the car if in an accident; dis: need to get others to open other windows when moving.
New: key nob (electric locks)- adv : can unlock remotely, don't need to put key in ignition, neat feature that just be close to door with nob in pocket or bag can open driver's door; dis: when in parked all doors are unlocked (can actually change this feature but it is also convenient most times) could be an attacker problem, also sometimes forget to lock it.
Old : key - had more keys, doors stay locked until opened.
New : smaller easier to park / drive but smaller.
Old: minivan - so more room.
New: better mileage.
Old: easier for others to see, higher seats gave better view.
So like most things in life, nothing is perfect and there are compromises!

Woodmans
Every once in a while we go to a store called Woodmans at 7145 120th Avenue Kenosha, WI 53142. It is an employee owned supermarket. Today was one of the days that we went.
It is a very big store that has rows and rows of goods. Since I tire quickly of shopping, we tend to spend more time in the first few aisles then the back 40.
Our normal grocery bill is $15 - 30 when we go to other stores, but at Woodmans we tend to spend over $100 (today $100.94). It is a good place to stock up on items like Whole Wheat flour ($2,49 per 5# vs. $3.54 for Walmart) and frozen blueberries ($1.99 per 12 oz. vs. $2.49 at Aldis). So we stock up on them (20# of WW Flour and 5 packages of blueberries).
The first time we went, I was shocked to learn that they don't take credit cards only debit cards. This led to a little embarrassment in the check out line. Today, I noticed that right on the door into the store it says : No Credit cards only Debit cards. I guess one of these days I should learn to read!
But since it is a ways away, we don't go very often.
I decided to go via non-freeway roads there and I-94 on the way back. I wanted to see which way we get better gas mileage in our New Car. It turns out that going the freeway gives better gas mileage (this might be useful info for the few of you who might consider a Hybrid car to others not so much!).

Glass Half Full
Though I complain about the warm weather this winter, there are some advantages.
We tend to go to the Y early in the morning (before the sun rises), and in a regular winter, we (that is me) have to scrape off the frost before we leave; but this winter the car windows have been clear.
Some winters with a lot of snow I hurt my back if I shovel the snow incorrectly; but this winter there has been so little snow my back is fine.
Recently, my hands have been getting cold on the long dog walks early in the morning when it is cold out; but this winter it is usually above freezing so my gloves work better. One problem is that I have to take off my gloves to pick up Frisbit's production, so warmer weather does not allow them (the hands) to get so cold.
New car part 3:
We have been getting a fairly high mileage this fill up. The car has a simultaneous mpg meter and a running total mpg for the trip odometer. Right now it claims we are getting over 48.8 mpg.
I heard that a woman sued Honda for not getting 50 mpg on her Honda Civic hybrid. She "only" got 42 mpg. The above article said :
Peters opted out of a series of class-action lawsuits filed on behalf of similar Honda hybrid owners when she saw a proposed settlement would give owners no more than $200 cash and a rebate of $500 or $1,000 to purchase a new Honda.
The settlement would give trial lawyers $8.5 million, Peters said.
On another subject: The only people who win in class action suits are the lawyers.
